Story skeletons – the memory aid

Story Skeletons are a way of creating simple story structures to aid memory and help the storyteller remember the sequences of the story. ‘Flesh’ can then be added later, as much or as little, depending on the audience, time constraints and purpose of the storytelling exercise.

Story skeletons = Breaking the story down into easily-remembered chunks with important elements of the story

According to the structure of a story, we use a five-part story skeleton:
  1. Beginning (who and where)
  2. Rising action (dilemma)
  3. Climax
  4. Falling action
  5. Ending
