Module -Storytelling
SUMMARY
- The biggest difference between reading a story aloud and storytelling is that the storyteller is free - not tied to a book that dictates the words and must be held in the hands.
- The storyteller knows the story as an inner picture and tells it to the audience in his/her own words.
- Remember the 4 pillars of storytelling: Love your story, believe your story, know your story, make it your own!
- Prepare your story skeleton and fill it with live.
- Know your first and last lines by heart.
- Imagine sounds, tastes, scents, colors … of your story. Only when you see the story vividly yourself can you make your audience see it!
- Use your presentation tools: voice, facial expressions, body language, focus, rhythm and timing
- But don’t forget: Storytelling is not drama! The story is in center.
- It is normal to be nervous.
